Why go through the trouble of facing the enemy up close when one can communicate violence just as effectively using arrows? InAssassin's Creed: Odyssey, that much is possible and then some thanks to the rather broken Hunter build and ability tree. It by far the easiest, cheesiest way to breeze through the game.

That's because, apart from the fact that there are no major ranged threats inOdyssey, the A.I. is also not sophisticated enough to withstand such levels of cheese. Of course, in order to take full advantage of the hunter ability tree, one needs to pick the most efficient nodes. That's why this guide exists; fighting like a caveman is overrated so pick and max out these 10 hunter skills, instead.
10 Beast Master
One big weakness of pure hunter or bow builds inOdysseyis getting swarmed by multiple melee malakas. Assuming the hunter doesn't dispatch them quickly enough, this can be annoying to deal with in a small space.
That's why the game provides hunters with a Pokemon-esque meat shield option in the form of the Beast Master ability. It allows hunters to tame any predator they knock out so they can soak all the melee damage while the hunter sits back and relaxes.
9 Devastating Shot
One of the bread and butter active abilities of the hunter is Devastating Shot. It's cheap and can deal up to four times the damage of any arrow, including the special ones. Additionally, status effect arrows also get double the build-up rate.

Some players even go as far as to consider this one comically-overpowered thanks to how easy it can kill camp commanders or even bosses. Players don't even have to worry about the charge rate since they'll be doing it from a considerable range.
8 Multi-Shot
One good backup plan for hunters whose beasts have died from an onslaught of melee attackers is the Multi-Shot ability. It allows players to engage and target up to eight enemies at the same time.
On top of that, each of those eight enemies receives 2.5 times the damage from bows. In garrisons with lots of nuisances or even in conquest battles, this ability is a godsend and can easily tip the odds in the players' favor.
7 Sixth Sense
Sometimes the best approach for hunters is to stalk in camps, especially if the players are avoiding that annoying bounty increase. For that matter, Sixth Sense can prove to be better than most Assassin abilities, which is ironic.

Sixth Sense is a simple passive mechanic that slows down time by up to eight seconds upon detection. It also lets players take down any hostile in the vicinity with a multiplicative damage increase and auto-headshot.
6 Rain Of Destruction
One of the most fun albeit slightly repetitive gameplay segments ofOdysseyare the conquest battles that are unorganized mosh pits of Spartans and Athenians. Amidst all the chaos, a nice battlefield-cleansing wipe with the Rain of Destruction ability is a joy to use.
It magically turns the players' arrows into a giant shotgun from the sky. The initial volley radius is only three meters but later expands to five with an additional 450 percent Hunter damage. Even Warrior builds were never this powerful with area abilities.
5 Predator Shot
Predator Shot really shows how the developers let all sanity and reason go with the game design. This one is practically a target-seeking projectile and is the most advanced weapon in anyAssassin's Creedgame ever, and this was the earliest time period for the games, mind you.

Now, as for the ability, it's also best for sniping, as it allows players to zoom in on the target and deal as much as six times the damage with nearly double the range. That's on top of being able to control where the arrow will go. Beat that one, bullets!
4 Rapid Fire
Speaking of bullets, the bows inOdysseycan be turned into machine guns with the Rapid Fire ability. It's pretty self-explanatory. Players can continuously shoot arrows unfairly while dealing an additional 60 percent hunter damage.
Not only is it a good panic button for when tough enemies get close, but it's also very easy to abuse especially with gear that can generate adrenaline, which is required for every Rapid Fire shot. Seriously, at this point, maybe they should have just included an assault rifle DLC.
3 Archery Master
We're not joking anymore here, the hunter ability tree is just straight up cheating inOdyssey. The best example of that is this ability; at the base level, it increases arrow damage by 20 percent, which seems fair, but the next bonus makes it so that all regular shots don't consume any arrows anymore when using hunter abilities.

That means adrenaline is the only resource that pure hunters have to worry about. Even so, that also gets remedied by the Archery Master upgrades which generate Adrenaline outside of combat so that players have it readily available for the next encounter. Who needs spears and swords anymore?
2 Overpower Bow Strike
Both the warrior and hunter have "overpower" abilities, but it seems the latter got the better deal. The hunter's Overpower Bow Strike ability adds a static 1000 percent damage increase by dumping all three adrenaline bars. That's for the base level, the max level adds 1500 percent, which means fifteen times the damage in one attack.
By comparison, the warrior's overpower ability does several attacks—or one slow attack with a heavy weapon—and requires players to be in melee range. This ability just doesn't care what the enemy is or how far they are.
1 Ghost Arrow Of Artemis
As if the hunter abilities aren't comically busted enough, along comes the Ghost Arrows of Artemis. The developers didn't mask this one around with logic; it's an arrow that can go through shields, walls, and even enemies, basically rendering every enemy helpless.
Additionally, it adds 340 percent damage to the said arrow. Most hunters usually don't even need to sneak around in camps anymore if they have this. They can just shoot commanders through walls or sabotage supplies with fire arrows, even if it's inside a well-guarded fortress. Now, go andmake Artemis proud.
